Marko Spalatin was born in Croatia and immigrated to USA in the 1960s. By 1970, Marko Spalatin had become a major Op Art print maker, along with such artists as Richard Anuszkiewicz and Victor Vasarely. Op Art explores illusion and reality through blocks or patterns of color. In his work Spalatin is concerned with geometric forms in space and their relation to both color and light. The art of Marko Spalatin has been included in major exhibitions in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington, Paris, Montreal and Beirut.
