Original drypoint etching on wove paper. Signed Ben Nicholson in pencil and numbered from the very small limited edition of 20. Initialled and dated again in the image. Referenced in Cristea, 19. Dedicated '...à Jorge Romero Brest, St Ives '53'

In good condition with light overall discolouration and noticeable matt burn which could be reduced further if desired. Very light crease to left hand corner - may have been done at time of printing. An exceedingly rare, beautiful and highly collectable early Ben Nicholson etching

Jorge Romero Brest, a curator from Buenos Aires welcomed exhibitions of British sculpture in the 1950s. An exhibition of sculptures and drawings by Barbara Hepworth [Ben Nicholson's wife] went to the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes under the direction of Brest, and on to museums in Venezuela, Chile and Uruguay
