This poster is from an un-numbered edition of 1000. Referenced in Baggott, Brian David Hockney: Poster Art San Francisco: Chronicle Books, 1995, 135. In excellent condition and never framed.
The Olympic Committee commissioned 15 nationally known artists to create unique designs to promote the event. This poster is vintage, was printed in 1982 and is not a later reprint or copy. A stunning image using Hockney's immediately recognisable photo 'joiner' style which was revolutionary at the time.
