David HOCKNEY Los Angeles Olympics 1984 Poster, Signed  (1982)

The rare original colour offset lithograph on Parsons Diploma Parchment wove paper. Published in 1982 for the LA Olympic Games in 1984, David Hockney being one of the fifteen artists invited to create a poster for the Games. Hand signed by the artist in pencil lower right, un-numbered from the limited edition of 750, although there are said to be less than 200 prints in existence. Not to be confused with the unsigned LA Olympics poster that was published in an open edition on much finer poster paper. In excellent condition with only the very faintest traces of handling. A super-rare and sought after signed 1980s swimming pool polaroid lithograph and a needle in a haystack of later reprints and copies by ever-bankable artist David Hockney. If desired, the poster text can be mounted out to just leave the pencil signature showing, but we love it just as it is!
