Rare original colour offset lithograph on Parsons Diploma Parchment wove paper. Published in 1982 for the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 1984, David Hockney being one of the fifteen artists invited to create a poster for the Games. Hand signed in pencil lower right and un-numbered from the limited edition of 750, there are said to be less than 200 prints in existence. Not to be confused with the plate-signed poster that was published in an open edition on much finer paper. Literature: Baggott, Brian Hockney Posters London: Pavillion Books Ltd, (1987), p25. In very good condition, this hugely sought-after signed 1980s swimming pool lithograph is a needle in the haystack of later reprints and copies by the ever-bankable David Hockney. If desired, the poster text can be mounted out (see final image) but we love it just as it is!
