Bruce McLean Prints for Sale
Bruce McLean was born in 1944 in Glasgow and currently lives and works in London
He studied at Glasgow School of Art and afterwards at Saint Martins School of Art, London. He studied under Anthony Caro and Phillip King who encouraged questioning and delving into the history of sculpture. McLean's reaction was to make sculpture from rubbish, water and impermanent materials. He also used his own body in performance art and produced photographic works in which he appears.
McLean has produced paintings, ceramics, prints and worked with film, theatre and books, often incorporating a dry humour and scepticism which challenges the concept of 'art' and questions establishment thinking. He has continually made prints and posters which inform his sculptural investigations.
He was Head of Graduate Painting at The Slade School of Fine Art London, has had numerous solo exhibitions around the world and his work is held in private and public collections including the Tate Gallery and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
