Edward BAWDEN St Pauls  (1966)

SOLD Get an Email Alert if it's listed again

St Pauls, from Edward Bawden's Nine London Monuments (1966), an original linocut in colours on wove paper, signed in ballpoint pen lower right, titled and numbered lower left, one of 75 Artist's Proofs aside from the limited edition of what we think was 100. Referenced in Moncrieff & Greenwood, 64. Published by editions Alecto with their ink stamp to reverse

Tiny ink marks in left hand and top margins plus a small discoloured mark in top margin at sheet edge well away from the image. Slight overall, even discolouration, otherwise in good condition with strong bold colours and will frame up nicely. An excellent example of Bawden's renowned ingenuity using the simplicity of lines, and an extremely rare and collectable London image by this collectable modern British artist
