Victor PASMORE Idea for Desert Sand (Mixed Media)  (1992)
An original mixed media work in its original frame. Painting mounted on wood over a second wooden board lined with Japon Paper with 2 painted dots. Signed with initials VP in paint in the left of the painting. This original artwork was made as an idea for the etching and aquatint The Desert Sand, printed in a limited edition of 90 in the same year, 1992 (see last photo opposite). Full Provenance via labels on the reverse - originally from 2RC Edizioni d'Arte, Rome, the printmaking studios where Pasmore spent periods of intensive experimentation for the many prints he created there. Exhibited in a solo exhibition at the Caroline Wiseman Gallery, London called The Image In Search of Itself in 2005, with accompanying documentation.
In very good condition, the original frame with a few minor dings and faint marks commensurate with age. Frame Size: 700 x 620mm. A rare and wonderful piece, immediately recognisable as Victor Pasmore and guaranteed to be a talking point in any interior!
Victor Pasmore was an artist who used everything that came to hand in the studio including paper, canvas, collage, marker pens, pencils, inks and spray paints.
