David HOCKNEY Ceramic for Museo Tamayo  (1984)
Lovely and unusual little hand-painted ceramic ashtray or tray - created for the opening of Hockney Paints the Stage exhibition at Museo Tamayo, Mexico City in 1984, from an edition of unknown size (however these rarely come up for sale). We think there were originally three trays in the set and you can see the other two here. On the reverse, there is text that reads David Hockney, Museo Tamayo, 1984, Pintado a Mano por Alfredo Guzman [hand-painted by Alfredo Guzman] with the artist's initials in ink.
In excellent condition with very little signs of handling, very occasional crazing in the glaze.
This has just got to be the perfect gift for the discerning art-lover in your life...
