Two lovely and unusual little hand-painted ceramic ashtrays or trays - created for the opening of Hockney Paints the Stage exhibition at Museo Tamayo, Mexico City in 1984, from an edition of unknown size (however these rarely come up for sale). On the reverse, text that reads David Hockney, Museo Tamayo, 1984, Pintado a Mano por Alfredo Guzman [hand-painted by Alfredo Guzman] with the artist's initials in ink.
In excellent condition with very little signs of handling, very occasional crazing in the glaze.
These have just got to be the perfect gift for the discerning art-lover in your life...
