Eyvind EARLE Above The Sea  (1985)
Original screenprint in colours on museum board, hand signed lower right in the image and numbered from the limited edition of 250 lower left. Printed by Accent Studio. Referenced in Robert Bane The Complete Graphics of Eyvind Earle, 171
Noticeable mottled staining throughout the margins, but the image in excellent condition. A richly inked, beautifully coloured and ethereal landscape print by US artist Eyvind Earle which will frame up beautifully
Earle is quoted as saying, '[screenprinting] becomes an art medium in itself as important and original and different as oil painting watercolor pastel etching or engraving effects that only be achieved with the serigraph process, I do not try to copy an oil painting. In 1951 Eyvind Earle joined Disney as an assistant background painter. He was responsible for the styling, background and colors for the highly acclaimed Sleeping Beauty (1959)
