Howard HODGKIN Blood  (1982-1985)

Original lithograph from three aluminium plates printed in three shades of black with hand colouring in watercolour (black wash border, pink wash ground) and gouache (a red wash ground, yellow and crimson) on buff Velin Arches mould-made 270gsm paper. Initialled HH for Howard Hodgkin in pencil, dated '83 and numbered from the small limited edition of 50. Referenced in Hodgkin's Catalogue Raisonnee by Heenk, 69. Printed at the Petersburg Studios, New York, 1983 and published by Petersburg Press, 1985.

In very good condition (UNframed). Printed on the same set of printing plates as Sand, this beautifully coloured lithograph is one of over 200 prints created by Hodgkin in a career that lasted more than 50 years.
