A mechanically-made print (possibly offset lithograph or Xerox) in colours on strong, slightly shiny paper, printed to the sheet edges and mounted to a backing board, the backing board being signed. Possibily a proof before being made into a menu (according to Caulfield's family/estate). Signed Patrick Caulfield in pencil on the backing board (not on the print), we can't find any sales records, or records of other copies aside from the same print (in a slightly different colourway) in the Irish Museum of Modern Art. Not in Cristea, Patrick Caulfield: The Complete Prints 1964-1999. Provenance: gifted by the artist to the previous owner. Image size: 297mm x 358mm, Backing board size: 407mm x 483mm.
The print in good condition, the backing board rather mottled and discoloured. A truly beautiful and rare Patrick Caulfield still life depicting simplified, figurative objects in a restaurant interior, its complex bold intersecting lines, shapes and shadows reminiscent of Still Life Ingredients of the same year.
