William SCOTT Portrait of a Girl  (1948)
An original lithograph in colours on fine paper. Signed William Scott in pencil and numbered from the limited edition of 60. Referenced in Balfour-Oatts, William Scott: A Survey of his Original Prints, Archeus Fine Art, London, 2005, p51, no 3
The Victoria and Albert Museum commissioned this print to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the invention of lithography by Alois Senefelder
In good condition, with some unobtrusive marks (mainly printing ink) and handling creases in the margins. An exquisite early William Scott print which is extremely rare - we can find very few auction sales although there are several in museum collections such as in The Hepworth Wakefield
