Crocodiles, an original etching and aquatint from two steel plates in 4 colours; black, grey, pink and yellow printed on Crisbrook handmade paper from the Africa Suite (1966-67). Signed Julian Trevelyan in pencil and numbered from the limited edition of 125 (there were also 14 artist's proofs. Published by Editions Alecto and printed by Michael Templar and Harry Snook (the first 20 in the edition were printed by Editions Alecto). Referenced in Turner, 189. Image size: 352mm x 475mm.
The sheet a little marked and trimmed slightly, although still with adequate margins, the print now reframed and ready to hang. With few sales records and rarely seen, this is a wonderful rare and beautifully coloured Julian Trevelyan etching depicting a whimsical family of crocs.
